What is SLPY?
At Salt Lake Power Yoga, we teach various styles and types of yoga.
Our signature powerFLOW, inspired by the Baptiste Power Yoga methodology, is an intelligently sequenced series of asanas (poses) taught in 11 phases in a HOT room.
This practice helps you build greater physical awareness of your muscles, joints, and skeletal structure, as well as increase mental and emotional well-being for a whole-body, whole-brain experience.

What to wear & bring
Our classes are heated to a sweaty but manageable 95-100 degrees, so dress light! Wear synthetics you’re comfortable sweating in—100% cotton will soak up sweat and become heavy. You’ll soon be wearing your sweat as a badge of honor and a sign of comfort in your own body.
At SLPY we embrace the sweat!
When you come to class bring a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. If you do not have these, no worries, we rent mats and towels. Want your own? We also sell awesome yoga gear at the studio!
Yoga Etiquette
- Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to give yourself time to check in, change, relax, and set up your practice space.
- Inform your teacher about any injuries, health concerns, or pregnancy before class. They don’t bite and would love to hear from you.
- Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water before, during, and after class.
- Bring a mat and towel—you’ll need both! Rentals are available.
- Please wear deodorant!
- Refrain from eating large meals at least 2 hours before class.
- Be prepared to sweat! We practice in a heated room (95-100 degrees).

Our Background
How did we get here?
While many studios trace their contemporary postural forms of yoga back to ancient Indian traditions and the metaphysics of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita, SLPY understands modern yoga as a combination of western fitness and a search for peace and comfort in a fast-paced, complex world. We have developed a methodology that combines physical asana, mindfulness, and self-discovery to shape your body holistically and without dependence on external equipment.
